Negev Desert, Israel:

landscape in Makhtesh Ramon
In the middle of November, work brought me to the Negev Desert of Israel for a week.

I spent my time at two localities: the Makhtesh Ramon and the HaMakhtesh HaGadol. Both of these places are characterized by a fascinating geology, a barren desert landscape, and some interesting fauna including the Nubian Ibex and the Dorcas Gazelle.

I had a great time thanks to my Israeli colleagues and would love to come back some day for more serious hiking.
