The Yellow-backed Oriole (Icterus chrysater) is a species occurring from southern Mexico to northern Colombia and Venezuela. Throughout this range the birds favor open woodlands or shrubby areas with trees. They live in monogamous pairs and feed mainly on insects, but also on fruits and even nectar. I have photographed this species in a coastal forest near Colón, Panama, in March 2014. Hope you like it, Marie Louise! 🙂
