India 2016 (part XXVIII): Sights of Jaipur 4

Jaipur, Rajasthan:

Amber Fort during the monsoon

Amber Fort during the monsoon

After our walk through the city centre of Jaipur, we went to the nearby small village of Amber (aka Amer).

Amber is famous for its truly magnificent fort, which I had visited already at the beginning of May. The monsoon rains, however, changed the whole appearance drastically covering the hill side in beautiful green grass. Following Amber Fort, we went to the nearby Anokhi Museum demonstrating the arts of woodblock printing. After passing the old Bihari Ji Temple and the adjacent step well, we took an autorickshaw to Nahargarh Fort before calling it a day.

To experience more of Jaipur during the monsoon season, we later went to the temples of Galtaji – but please check out the following blog to read about that!
