Swakopmund, Namibia:

After a seemingly endless drive along the Skeleton Coast, we finally arrived in Swakopmund.

Swakopmund is Namibia’s fourth largest city (slightly above 40,000 inhabitants) and characterized by German colonial architecture. One of its oldest buildings is the Woermann House constructed in 1894 and offering  nice views across the city from its tower.

We spent only one night in Swakopmund before heading towards the tiny settlement of Homeb deep inside the vast Namib Desert.

  1. I love Swakopmund!! Such a quaint city – sometimes you feel like you’re in a European town just from the architecture!
