Netherlands 2017: Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Netherlands:

After my return from China, I spent two days with a friend in Amsterdam.

The weather at the beginning of October was cloudy and cold, but we still took long walks along the city’s canals checking out the major sights. Even though a canal boat tour is maybe the most touristy thing you can do in Amsterdam, it was fun to get an impression of the city from this different perspective. Since our time was rather limited, we could not visit all of the fantastic museums and instead decided to concentrate on the Van Gogh Museum. In little more than ten years, this world-famous artist created all of his impressive paintings until he committed suicide at the age of 37. The museum gives a detailed overview on his impressive legacy.

Two days were clearly not enough to get a thorough feeling for Amsterdam – I guess, I have to come back again some day!
