A nightly visit to Kom Ombo, Egypt (10/2018)

Temple of Kom Ombo

Temple of Kom Ombo

The first stop during our Nile River Cruise from Aswan to Luxor was at the beautiful Temple of Kom Ombo.

We reached the site just at sunset and experienced the temple beautifully lit by many spotlights. The Temple of Kom Ombo was constructed in the 2nd and 1st century BC and dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus. I really enjoyed the impressive and huge carvings in the ancient temple walls!

After our visit, we slept on the ship and continued our sightseeing tour on the coming day with a visit to beautiful Edfu!
