Namibia 2007 (part IX): Fish River Canyon

Fish River Canyon, Namibia:

Fish River Canyon

Fish River Canyon

From the incredible Sossusvlei, our journey took us further south to the gigantic Fish River Canyon.

The Fish River Canyon in southernmost Namibia is the country’s second most visited tourist attraction. With a length of around 160 km, a width of up to 27 km, and a maximum depth of almost 550 m, it is the largest canyon of Africa. The stark desert landscape with this enormous river valley is a truly impressive sight!

We had reached the southernmost point of our journey and returned north to the Quiver Tree Forest near Keetmanshoop.
